On My Own of Michigan is a private, non-profit organization 501(c)(3) that was created to assist individuals with mild developmental disabilities become independent and contributing members of the community.
On My Own of Michigan was developed to help young adults transition from dependency to self-sufficiency. By providing guidance through all phases of this journey, OMOM helps to cultivate self-esteem and self-reliance. The establishment and enjoyment of relationships and friendships within this peer group is another facet of this program. Members receive support, encouragement and participate in a variety of structured classes and social activities that promote growth and confidence. All of these facets are accomplished through the 2-component programs at On My Own of Michigan: The Social Program and The Apartment Living Program.
