Art & Clay on Main has been described as Lancaster's INclusive Art OUTlet. When FairfieldDD first purchased the business, it was primarily a paint-your-own pottery and bisqueware studio that also sold art and handmade jewelry pieces. Since the beginning, roughly half of the staff has consisted of people with disabilities. Blue Shoe Arts, FairfieldDD's arts program for adults, moved to the creative space in July 2010. Minor changes have been made since, including increasing the number of classes to include pottery, painting, stained glass and now glass fusion. In addition, children's classes, designed to fill the art education void from public school programs, were added in the Fall of 2012. In May 2013, Square Seven Coffee House opened as downtown Lancaster's first full service coffee bar, offering specialty coffee and tea drinks as well as sandwiches, soups, pastries and fruit smoothies.
