The ArmOR Hand Gloves allow safe and proper animal restraint technique.
My name is Laura Catena. I love being a veterinarian, and I am well-aware of the seriousness of animal-related injuries. When I was bitten by a patient, my joints became infected. I had severe pain, extensive surgery, and months of physical therapy in order to regain proper function of my hand. Because of my injury, I developed gloves that will help to protect against animal-related injuries. The purpose of The ArmOR Hand Gloves is to allow safe and proper animal restraint technique. Proper technique can be achieved because of the superior flexibility and dexterity of the gloves. The ArmOR Hand Protector Gloves offer a level of protection to the wearer while facilitating restraint of the animal by allowing sufficient flexibility and dexterity. Two styles are available. The first style, The Original Animal Handling Glove, offers hand and arm coverage up to the elbow. Reinforced high-injury areas provide additional protection. The use of the gloves provide personal protection of the hand and forearm, decreasing the chance of bites and scratches, transmission of zoonotic disease, rabies, cat scratch disease, ringworm, etc. Vaccine administration is easy and possible wearing this first style, as well as the second. The second style, the “Procedue-Palpation Glove,” is the exact same glove as the Animal Handling Glove. This style has the first 3 fingertips exposed. This allows for palpation, vaccine administration, blood draws, toe nail trims, ear cleanings, medication administration, etc.
You can achieve low-stress animal handling wearing these gloves. The product allows for safe and proper animal handling technique. This can not be achieved by bulky "welder" gloves, or gloves that do not have superior flexibility and dexterity.
1) The gloves are made of ALL synthetic materials. Stretch Cordura – one of the materials of the gloves is the STRONGEST of the stretch materials – it is used in the lining of tires. Neoprene over the knuckle – another material allows for increased hand articulation. Double Knit Kevlar – Kevlar is another VERY strong material used in the gloves. Inside of the cuff – Non-Slip material added for increased protection.
2) The gloves are NOT bulky! You will be able to feel the amount of pressure you are placing on animals when restraining. The flexibility and dexterity offer proper restraint of the animal, thus decreasing the chance of being scratched or bitten.
3) Decreases the likelihood of animals slipping through your fingers/chasing them around the exam room which can occur when the bulky gloves are worn. Proper restrain is MUCH easier with these gloves. Animal stress will be decreased as well as owner stress! Owners can use them to get their fractious cat to the vet!
4) The ArmOR Hand Protector Gloves are pleasing to the owner. They are not as “intimidating” as the bulky gloves; they are made for people that work with animals!
5) Pregnant employees may feel more comfortable wearing the gloves even for routine exams, while being more cautious in the workplace.
6) The gloves can be wiped down and they are machine washable!
7) They come in 4 sizes: Small, Medium, and Large, and XL to ensure a proper fit.
8) Each glove has a size marker at the top of the cuff as well as a loop for hanging.
9) Size chart is available to help determine proper size.
10) You are able to accomplish the "less is more" gentle, recommended restraint for cats approach. This can not be accomplished with bulky gloves.
The gloves are bite and scratch resistant. They are not bite-proof and can lessen the severity of injury, if injury occurs.
