Food for Life Baking Co. originated as a small family-owned natural foods store in Glendale, California in 1964.
Nearly 50 years later, Food for Life now makes high quality, flavourful breads in over 60 varieties. Remaining true to their original baking methods, Food for Life continues to bring you authentic and organic products in an age of otherwise processed foods.

Company Principal Gary Torres says that many of Food for Life's product names were inspired by Holy Scripture verses, such as this passage, Ez 4:9:
"Take also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it."
