Northstar has launched a Career Academy their year which aims to help students develop the self-determination and self-advocacy skills necessary for achieving independent living, employment and/or post-secondary education. We create customized coaching that supports and motivates students to work toward and reach their goals and aspirations. Through this program, students leave campus to work with community business partners at jobs that promote independence, self-determination, career readiness and problem-solving skills. Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in on-campus leadership opportunities and college-bound individuals are coached through the process of self-advocacy and the admission process.
