For 35 years, Steve Ayers and his extended family have crafted the finest usable stone ware available.

Our pottery is durable, functional, and beautiful!

Steve makes pottery with the customer in mind. Handles must feel comfortable; spouts must pour! Every piece is microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. All of our work is lead free and food safe.

Like fine art, each piece of Ayers Pottery is signed and dated.

The first thing to remember about pottery is that it is made of clay. While clay has been used since the dawn of civilization, it is very breakable. However, we still use pottery that is 20 to 30 years old.

With care and proper use, you too can enjoy pottery for years to come!

Here are some tips:

1). Treat pottery with care. Don't bang against granite counter-tops or when loading dishwashers or storing in cabinets.

2). The biggest pottery problem is temperature extremes. Never put anything frozen on pottery to heat in the oven or microwave! Always start at room temperature.

3). Our pottery is microwave and oven safe, but must have food distributed evenly (stir when microwaving). Rounded shapes, such as bowls and mugs, take stress much better than flat shapes, such as plates.

Our promise: With proper usage, we will replace your pottery if it cracks within the first few uses (not including a drop or fall).

Finally, we still get asked about lead content. In 35 years of working in pottery, we don't know of anyone in the using lead glazes. We mix our own glazes and would not risk contaminating ourselves, our employees, or our valuable customers.

We love our work and like talking about it!
