The Presidential Healthcare Center was founded by Dr. Jeffrey Elting, a renowned family physician in the District of Columbia. He uses his experience as the White House physician to bring presidential-quality healthcare to the people of Washington every day.
Using the most advanced technologies available, Dr. Elting is able to customize a program of laboratory testing, imaging studies and sophisticated biophysical procedures for each individual patient based on their specific needs. Our goal is to assess cardiac risks and detect diseases such as cancer early. Because the Center is located in the brand new medical complex at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital, our patients have access to some of the best medical services in the country, including dermatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, urology, orthopedic, nephrology, dental and radiology services both onsite and at nearby locations.
Dr. Jeffrey Elting was the first board-certified family physician to ever serve as the White House Physician. He provided full-time healthcare and consultative medical services to the President, Vice President, their families, and the White House staff, serving both on the White House complex and across the globe during travel to over 40 countries. He was also responsible for assessing health security risks and developing medical contingency plans in support of other Presidential and White House operations. Later, Dr. Elting continued to maintain a part-time White House clinical practice and served as a local healthcare advisor for the White House Medical Unit through 2008. In addition to his presidential service, he has also acted as the Medical Director of the renowned Department of Defense Health Fitness and Capstone Programs for senior military leaders and as the Medical Director for the association of the 18 hospitals in the national capital region. His vast experience gives him an unmatched, in-depth knowledge of healthcare resources with which he is able to advocate for the best medical care for his select group of patients.
