Peninsula College

Peninsula College (PC) was established by the state legislature in 1961 in response to the urging of local citizens who wanted to be able to continue their educations without having to travel great distances to do so. Our close proximity to mountains, forests and the ocean provides unique opportunities for students to participate in outdoor learning and recreational experiences unequaled at most other college locations in the country. We take full advantage of these assets in our curriculum and planning for student life and in the recruitment of highly skilled professional faculty and staff.

Our commitment to the communities of the Olympic Peninsula is clearly exemplified in our mission and strategic goals and priorities. These include global awareness, rapid change, rural economic development, environmental sustainability and outreach to diverse populations. By always putting teaching and learning at the center, we ensure that educating students remains the focal point of all we do.

Our academic offerings include baccalaureate degrees, college transfer and professional technical degrees and certificates, career training, basic studies, and professional development courses for business and community members. We are also an active supporter of the arts and sponsor several cultural events each year, often at no cost to community members. The PC Foundation is known for its American Conversations program. During the 2010-2011 academic year, our Pirate athletic teams claimed two men’s NWAACC championships―soccer and basketball. NWACC is the Northwest Athletic Association for Community Colleges.
