The King Center Charter School opened on August 14, 2000 as Buffalo’s first charter school. In February, the school received a full-term, 5-year, renewal of its charter. The school began with 80 students in grades K through 3, and has grown so that in 2014, 370 students from every corner of Buffalo will be enrolled in grades K-8.
