In the early 1980's Mrs. Melva Boulware and Mrs. Karen Mixon were volunteering with a Christian women's organization working inside the Women's Correctional Center in Columbia, SC. From this ministry and prayer idea came the idea for a business that would hire the offenders whose lives had changed. As a result, J. M. Grace was born on April 1, 1985. The name was taken from the three encouraging words: Joy, Mercy, and Grace. The original goal of Mrs. Boulware and Mrs. Mixon, of helping others is still being met through hiring and employee benefits as well as contributing portions of profits to ministries. Some of thes ministies arelocal in nature going directly back into the community in which we live and others are international in nature going around the world spreading the message of Joy, Mercy, and Grace.
