Legion @hiringourheroes #veterans #military #milspouse job fair 1030am-130pm today, @FortJacksonPAO; workshop 830am.

An initiative of American Legion National Commander Denise H. Rohan is for posts, districts and departments to reconnect with deploying or returning military personnel and to report those efforts on a form added to the 2018 National Membership Awards Points Manual. The Department of Michigan is successfully achieving this initiative as its reconnect program has become the “go-to” resource when a state veteran, servicemember and their family is facing financial hardship, needing assistance with reintegration, or looking for other support services.
The department’s Reconnect Committee has created thriving programs to meet the financial and reintegration needs of veterans, servicemembers and their families.

American Legion National Commander Denise H. Rohan is now extending her "Family First!" membership incentive pin to the entire American Legion Family. It's her way of supporting her "Family First!" theme and encouraging the American Legion Family to join forces when it comes to increasing membership.
Family First! pin awarded to any Legion Family member who recruits three eligible new members into The American Legion Family.

Congrats to all the winners. Thanks for preserving the organization's history.

“I think (film) does a good job of humanizing combat, showing that it affects not just the combatants,” said Michael Hjelmstad, a member of Post 43 in Hollywood. “With the Marines, people think it’s almost a catchphrase. You’re like ‘that’s what you signed up for. You knew the risks.’ But your family didn’t necessarily sign up for that. It affects not only people that are in (combat), but also a big periphery of people that are around them.”
