Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach has proudly been the Host of the Coast since 1948. For 65 years, this private membership Club has embodied Southern California’s casually elegant lifestyle by providing opulent amenities and services. The Club has attracted luminaries from all walks of life seeking an informal, family-centric atmosphere. Past visitors to the California waterfront Club have included Humphrey Bogart, Robert Wagner, Lauren Bacall, Natalie Wood, John Travolta, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, and Russell Simmons. The Club’s harbor-front bar and lounge, Duke’s Place, was even named after John Wayne, who was on the Board of Governors.

Reflecting the quaint charm of its surroundings, the Balboa Bay Club was founded to offer families a refined setting to enjoy Southern California’s sea, sand, and sun. The Club is located on 15 acres overlooking the Newport Bay and its prestigious harbor, which was developed in the early 1900s. A mix of both natural estuaries and man-made inlets, Newport Harbor contains several artificial islands, including the iconic Balboa Island, which is dotted with private homes and is accessible only by a two-lane bridge and ferryboat.

Balboa Bay Club has expanded and improved over the years to fit the needs of the members and community. The club now includes the adjacent and waterfront Balboa Bay Resort, as well as long-term residences, one of the largest and most comprehensive marinas in Newport Beach, and a wide array of magnificent amenities. Following tradition, Balboa Bay Club continues to honor its Members and their families by providing Newport living at its best, and will continue to do so for years to come.
