The Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation (PCR) is a Minnesota-based nonprofit, nondenominational, frontline ministry founded by The Rev. Dr. Arthur A. Rouner, Jr. PCR offers an effective model of retreat that fosters healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
Since 1996, PCR has done its fieldwork in Africa, primarily with church leaders (pastors, women leaders, and youth leaders) who have experienced the trauma of genocide and war. Retreats have also served government, military, and civil society leaders. PCR's goal is to reach the wounded.
PCR has established continuing programs in Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo. Retreats are conducted throughout the year by PCR Country Leaders and our African partners trained as facilitators and translators. We are also serve in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and South Sudan. We seek partnership to reach populations in need of the PCR healing retreats.
Since 2010, the Pilgrim Center ministry has directed its Healing Retreat outreach in a new additional direction. The Pilgrim Center was first shaped in response to the horrific trauma of the genocide in Rwanda. It was a time of an imperative urgency for a ministry seeking reconciliation, forgiveness and healing. Today we believe that out of the trauma of the Rwandan genocide The Healing Retreat is also a gift to America. Thousands of people have participated in the Pilgrim Center Healing Retreat in Africa, and now it is an exciting time for this ministry to expand in The United States.
