Mercy House is located in Harrisonburg Virginia. A true grass roots movement - Mercy House helps to feed, clothe and shelter people in the community.
Our organization works hard to help homeless families gain long-term stability. Mercy House also has a home for Teen Mothers.
We help people in the community avoid homelessness through the HPRP grant. This grant is a short term "hand-up" to families that are struggling due to the economy. We also provide temporary assistance for persons behind on their rent or mortgage through the HIP grant. For both grants, we look for persons that are struggling through no fault of their own.
We help eligible persons in our community save for their future through the VIDA program (matching 2-1 savings account).
We support ourselves with the Mercy House Thrift Store, Building Supply Store, and Mercy House Boutique clothing store.
