Patrick and Joanne Quillec, owners of the Zagat-rated Café Provence, opened French Market in November of 2013 in the Prairie Village Shops, making French food and provisions more accessible to Kansas Citians. It’s based on the “epiceries” of France: independent artisanal stores offering made-from-scratch foods ready to be enjoyed at home. In addition to packaging fresh, family-sized portions of Café Provence house-made favorites — including soups, sauces, cassoulets, and desserts made by Executive Chef Philip Quillec — French Market imports specialty items from France, ranging from popular children’s toys to fine salts, herbs, linens, housewares, and more.
