Built on the idea that a strong work ethic and treating both customers and employees fairly were keys to success, Ben Many and George Bishop Sr., founded Western Waterproofing in St. Louis, Missouri in 1915. While the early years consisted largely of waterproofing, evolving building techniques helped Western expand its service offerings. Through two world wars, economic hardships, and changes in the industry, Western Waterproofing continued to grow.

Celebrating 100 years in the industry, as of 2015, Western Waterproofing, its 30+ branches, and member companies, will now be known as Western Specialty Contractors. Our services cover a variety of building restoration needs across a wide range of industries from commercial to education, health care, government, and more. throughout the country. We are now one of the nation’s largest masonry/concrete restoration contractors.

While our name and the technology may have changed, one thing hasn’t: our commitment to excellent customer service and our employees. Many of our employees are in their second or third generation of working with Western Specialty Contractors, and the average team member has worked here for 17 years.
