"Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." - Athlete Oath.
Special Olympics Began in 1968 when Eunice Kennedy Shriver organized the First International Special Olympics Games at Soldier Field in Chicago, IL. At that first meet, 6 athletes from Kansas attended and participated. Now Kansas has 4,854 athletes competing in over 22 sports. SOKS also offers Healthy Athletes, Young Athletes, and Leadership Training. Special Olympics is much more than just a track meet.
