AVSP serves more than 1,600 residents of the Staten Island community that have developmental disabilities with a primary goal of promoting and attaining independence, inclusion, individuality and productivity. Consumers who utilize our services must be residents of New York, are of all ages (from early childhood to senior citizen) and reflect the socioeconomic, racial, ethnic and religious diversity found throughout Staten Island’s three Community Boards. A vast array of offerings is available depending upon the needs of the individual and what they wish to achieve. Active community involvement and independence are promoted within the context of varied activities offered in these programs.
