Jackson Oil & Solvents Inc

Jackson Oil Company was founded in 1935. Joe and Ramona Carter purchased Jackson Oil Co. on September 15, 1976, from Dallas Jones who had also run a plumbing operation out of the rear of the building.


In 1976, Jackson Oil Co. consisted of one location at 2080 Kentucky Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana, three delivery trucks, and four employees. The name was changed to Jackson Oil & Solvents and the company was incorporated on November 30, 1979. In 1989 the Carter's three children, Louis Carter, Sally Gillum and Monica Heath purchased the business. Louis and Monica have continued their ownership since the death of Sally in 2000.


The company purchased Aero Oil Company on August 1, 1998, which included a location in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A state of the art 24 hour Race Fuel facility was opened in 2008 at the company's headquarters at 1970 Kentucky Avenue in Indianapolis. The wholesale division of Crystal Flash Petroleum was purchased on July 21, 2009, which included a bulk plant and warehouse facility in both Greenfield, Indiana and North Webster, Indiana. 24 hour Card Lock fueling facilities are also located on 86th Street in Indianapolis and in Greenfield.


Ramjo, Inc. a sister company to Jackson Oil opened a truck stop convenience store at 2210 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis in April 1995. Named Joe's Junction #9, this location was followed in 1997 by the convenience stores Joe's Junction #8 at 214 North State Road 135, Trafalgar, Indiana, Joe's Junction #7 at 2301 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis in May 2004, and Joe's Junction #6 at 5220 West Troy Avenue, Indianapolis in December 2006.


Jackson Oil & Solvents, Inc. has grown because of the dedication of every person in the company to hard work, honesty, and the selling of quality products, along with a concerted effort to provide the best service possible to our customers.
