Meet Dr. Sharon Haley:

Graduated Wright State University 1979
Graduated Indiana University School of Dentistry 1986
Joined FFD in 1996

Dr. Haley is originally from Dayton, Ohio, where she grew up as the 7th of 8 children. She attended an all girls school, Julienne High School, before going to Wright State University. She earned her Medical Technology and came to Indianapolis for her first job at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the microbiology lab.

Dr. Haley met her husband when he was in law school in Indianapolis. The same year he graduated from law school, she started dental school. He was ready to take it easy and she was just starting the four most grueling years of her life. But they stuck together and were married her junior year of dental school. She graduated from dental school in 1986, and five years later they had their son, Will, followed two and a half years later by their daughter, Ellen. They are both currently in college.

Dr. Haley’s leisure activities include boating and pot luck dinners with the neighbors. She really enjoys reading and has belonged to a neighborhood book club for almost 20 years. She also enjoys going to IU volleyball games and shows at the IU auditorium. She and her husband are doing more travelling now that they are empty nesters, having in the last few years gone to a number of national parks: Rocky Mountain, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon. There is so much to see and do here in our country and they are working on seeing it all!



Meet Dr. Nell Thompson:

Joined FFD in 2001

Dr. Thompson grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and graduated from Warren Central High School in 1986. Unsure of what to do after high school, she began working for her family dentist as an assistant. This dentist introduced her to all aspects of dentistry and encouraged her to further her education. During this time, she married her husband Doug, and they relocated to the south side of Indy and then later to Greenwood, where they now reside.

Dr. Thompson attended IU School of Dentistry for Dental Hygiene and graduated from the program in 1991 with an degree in Dental Hygiene. After practicing dental hygiene for several years, she decided to pursue dental school. She completed her prerequisite courses and was accepted to Indiana University School of Dentistry. After graduation in 1999, she practiced for 2 years before joining Franklin Family Dentistry in 2001 as an owner and partner.

In practicing dentistry, she enjoys working with patients to find the best treatment for their particular dental needs and to help people become more comfortable in coming to the dentist. It is very rewarding when she can make someone smile and feel good about their smile.

Dr. Thompson has two children, Jessica and Jacob and follows participation in soccer, football, track, and swimming. When not at games, she enjoys being outside walking with their dogs, boating, paddle boarding and yoga.



Meet Dr. Lori Shattuck:

Graduated DePauw University 1999
Graduated Indiana University School of Dentistry 2003
Joined FFD in 2011

Dr. Shattuck is a native of “The Region” also known as northwest Indiana, but she spent much of her childhood in Heidelberg, Germany, and loves the culture, history and the amazing food there. She returned to Indiana and completed her undergraduate studies at DePauw University and received her degree in Biology in 1999. Knowing from the age of 5 that she wanted to be a dentist, she continued straight on to Indiana University School of Dentistry and graduated with her DDS degree in 2003. Upon graduation, she entered into a dental residency program at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin to further train and work in a hospital setting as a dentist. While she loved living and working in beautiful Madison, she decided to head south to the warmer climate of central Indiana.

After practicing in Indianapolis for 7 years, Dr. Shattuck joined Franklin Family Dentistry in 2011 as an owner and partner. She enjoys providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages, with a focus on preventive and restorative care. She will spend the time necessary to educate you and provide all of your treatment options. She has tremendous pride in creating beautiful smiles that patients are proud to show, and will provide care with the utmost attention to detail and a gentle touch.

Dr. Shattuck is married, and she and her husband Jared have two children, Carson and Sydney, and two Labrador retrievers, Wrigley and Tucker. In her free time, she enjoys running and training for half marathons, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
