HUSD SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

Humboldt Unified School District welcomes and encourages a robust conversation on this page. HUSD is committed to providing a world-class education for all of our students and we pride ourselves on inclusive conversation. With that in mind, we make it a practice to never delete your posts or comments… with two exceptions. We will delete comments that contain language inappropriate for this forum. We have chosen to select an option through Facebook that automatically hides any post that contains explicit language. We also ask that you treat each other respectfully. You don’t have to agree with each other (or us, for that matter) all of the time, but we believe it is possible to disagree without being disagreeable.

We reserve the right on our social media sites to delete comments or posts that do not foster healthy debate but only encourage unkind interactions. This is a school district site and we must ensure that comments are respectful and appropriate. We would kindly ask that you take conversations of that manner to your own social media sites. Our sites are intended to give information to our parents and our community of events, school closures and offerings within our district. We would kindly ask for digital responsibility from all who visit our platforms.

If we do deem comments to be inappropriate for our site, we will kindly ask that they be edited. If the author does not edit their comments, the comments will be removed from our site. If inappropriate comments continue to be posted HUSD has the right to ban the author from our site. We hope it does not come to this, as we would like to share information in a family friendly environment.
