The message from Topeka and Washington is clear. Funding to support programs for individuals with developmental disabilities will continue to be reduced. A group of concerned parents, guardians and residents of Coffey, Osage and Franklin counties has joined together to form the Friends of COF committee, an IRS Code 501 (c) (3) organization, to provide additional, reliable sources of income to guard against future losses of state and federal funds. The Friends of COF committee exists to provide support to the COF Training Services organization in its efforts to improve the quality of life for the individuals with developmental disabilities it serves. The Friends of COF finds and develops relationships that enable charitable giving from a wide range of donors and make appropriate arrangements for the effective management and distribution of those resources to meet COF Training Services needs.
