Moore Elementary School

The Marshall Independent School District proudly serves approximately 5,300 students in Marshall, Texas. The district was founded in 1898 with the creation of Marshall High School.

MISD consolidated and underwent a grade-level realignment with the opening of four new schools and the renovation of an existing building to serve the district's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program in 2017-2018. The Legacy 2017 building program, born out of the passage of a $109,210, bond issue in 2015, consolidated the district from 11 campuses to just seven, with four K-5 elementary schools, one 6-8 junior high and one 9-12 high school. Washington Early Childhood Center continues to serve as the district's Pre-K/Head Start campus.

Marshall High School, the centerpiece of the district and one of Marshall's most notable landmarks for those driving into town via Highway 59 and Highway 43, has consistently met state standards academically with distinctions, and is a full-fledged grade 9-12 AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) as of the 2016-2017 school year.

Marshall ISD opened its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Academy at South Marshall Elementary in the fall of 2014. The program has since expanded to the middle school level and was implemented at Marshall Junior High School beginning in the fall of 2017. The original goal is to advance the district's STEM program each year until MISD is a full-fledged, K-12 STEM district.

In 2018-2019, the district opened "Little Mav Academy," a daycare facility to serve the needs of district staff and students with children ages newborn - 4 years. The daycare is open only to employees and students of Marshall ISD and includes an education-based curriculum similar to that of Washington Early Childhood Center, which is MISD Pre-K/Headstart campus for district 3-4 year olds.
