Haberling Financial Group was established in 1983 by founder and current president of the company, Ty Haberling. Ty started the business out of college and has been working with members of the Tri-City community for over 30 years. Many wondered how a 25 year old college grad was able to survive in this business filled with experienced brokers and agents, Ty reminisces saying “I was fortunate in my timing. Markets were selling at historically low valuations, financial planning was a new industry and most importantly, my father provided me free rent.” On January 1, 2016, HFG merged with Community First Bank in order to provide trust company services for clients entering new seasons in life. Today, HFG Trust is a fee only practice and the only locally owned Trust company. With 7 advisors and 9 support staff, HFG Trust manages over $300MM in assets for some of the most selfless hard working people in the community. HFG Trust provides portfolio management and performance reporting alongside a number of holistic financial planning services. These services typically include retirement capital assessment (Is the client on track?), estate and beneficiary planning, insurance planning (HFG Trust does not sell insurance), income tax planning opportunities and generational wealth education. In some ways our firm is a family office for individuals that have $500,000 to $20MM of assets.

We believe in a commitment to life-long learning. Philosophy wise, we believe the price you pay for an investment determines your future returns. We do not market time and do not diversify for the sake of diversity. There must be a value proposition to any position and asset class we own.
