AGC is in Indiana today raising awareness about highway work zone safety with Indiana DOT and unveiling new efforts to protect workers.
Officials with the Associated General Contractors of America and Indiana Department of Transportation will unveil new efforts to protect highway workers and release state and national highway work zone safety data during a visit to the Indiana Traffic Management Center in Indianapolis. The officials will also urge motorists heading out for the summer travel season to use caution while driving through work zones. Brian Turmail, national spokesman for the Associated General Contractors of America will release the new state and national highway work zone safety data and unveil new efforts the national group is taking to help improve work zone safety. C.J. Potts, president of Milestone Contractors, will talk about steps local contractors and the association’s state chapter, the Indiana Constructors Inc., will talk about how workers are impacted by crashes. And Indiana Department of Transportation Chief Operating Officer Michael Smith will talk about steps state officials are taking to promote safety and mobility in work zones during the Memorial Day travel period.
