The Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation, a 501(c)3 non profit organization was founded in 1980 as a benevolent extension of the Association of Colorado State Patrol Professionals, the Colorado State Patrol's employee organization. The original goal of the Foundation was to assist in continuing the education for dependent children or widows of Troopers killed in the line of duty, and since its inception, the Foundation has assisted over 25 children and widows achieve their higher education goals after their incredible loss. Now, after thirty years of existence, the Foundation has evolved and expanded its role to include a variety of community related programs and initiatives:

-Annual scholarship funds to assist continuing education as a benefit for Association members’ dependents, spouses, or selves.

-Safe driving initiatives and programs like Alive at 25 and Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving are also in place to further education on defensive driving awareness.

-Annual monetary donations for any orphaned children of Colorado State Troopers killed in the line of duty up to the age of eighteen before assisting with their higher education.

-Honoring any fallen man or woman in uniform by providing $1,000 to the family of the law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty in the state of Colorado.
