Allegretti was trained at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 1979. He has since accumulated twenty-seven years of architectural experience primarily in northern New Mexico. His background includes a varied mix of residential, commercial, and institutional projects. He holds architectural registration in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Virginia and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. He has been the principal of an architecture firm in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1992.
Allegretti has incorporated sustainability into his designs since the early 1980’s, specializing in integrated passive solar design as well as other sustainable technologies. He is a member of the New Mexico Chapter of the US Green Building Council.
Allegretti has given the Santa Fe community many attractive residential and commercial projects. Some important designs include the Las Campanas Fire Station, the Pecos Valley Medical Center and the Economos Canyon Road Gallery. Allegretti was the project architect for the Casapueblo Inn, a 32-unit lodging in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
