Texas Dietetic Association

Eat Right Texas Nutrition is operated by the Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The Texas Academy is the Texas affiliate of the national Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. We are a not-for-profit professional organization of over 4,500 registered dietitian nutritionists, dietetic technicians, and students in Texas.

Texas Academy members provide expert food and nutrition resources for Texans. They are here to help Texans improve and manage their health—and make eating an enjoyable and delicious experience.

Our members work in a variety of settings such as: business and industry, schools, universities and research centers, hospitals and clinics, public health units, long-term care facilities, pharmaceutical companies and health fitness centers.

The Texas Academy consists of 5 regions throughout the state. The regions leadership team consists of a region director (voting member of the Texas Academy board of directors), a region director elect, and several committee chairs. Meetings and networking events are held throughout the region in different areas.

The Texas Academy is governed by a 12 member board of directors (BOD) that is voted in a statewide election.

The BOD consists of the President, President-Elect, Past President, Treasurer, Director-at-Large Communications, Director-at-Large Regions, Chair of Delegates, North Region Director, Northeast Region Director, South Region Director, Southeast Region Director and West Region Director.

Additionally two Academy delegates, Public Policy Coordinator, State Policy Representative, State Regulatory Specialist, Treasurer-Elect, Membership Chair, and Texas Academy Foundation Director sit on the board. There are approximately 12 standing committees that volunteer their time to serve the Texas Academy membership and fulfill its mission.
