What is Carvestone?
Most coatings have one thing in common: they all look like a coating. In 1992, a CarveStone/quartz coating was developed that would look and feel like real stone, but with all the benefits of concrete.
Carvestone is twice as strong as concrete, isn’t hot to the touch and doesn’t get slippery when wet. It’s versatile enough to work for your driveway, patio or pool.
Since we use a blend of cements and minerals specifically designed to be applied over most surfaces, you can be assured that Carvestone will be the last coating you will ever need.
How is Carvestone applied?
While some companies apply coating cheaply and quickly, our Carvestone applications are much more detailed, with every project treated as a work of art. Each job is carved, colored and grouted by hand. No tape, stencils or stones! Carvestone is approximately 3/8 inch thick, giving the look and feel of real stone.
What surfaces can Carvestone cover?
Concrete, Pea Gravel, Cool Deck, Brick, Tile (if in good condition), and Pool Coping.
What can you do about cracks?
If you decide on a random pattern such as flagstone, we incorporate the cracks into the pattern so that even if a crack ever opened up we would only need a simple 15-minute grout repair. With a square pattern, we grind down below the cracks and carefully epoxy them.
Is Carvestone slippery when wet?
No. Unlike stamped concrete or real stone, we trowel Carvestone on by hand. As it’s setting, we use sponges to give it even more texture. The finished surface won’t hurt your feet. Even when Carvestone gets wet, it’s never slick.
Can it withstand the wear and tear of cars on a driveway?
Carvestone has a 6000 PSI rating, which is over twice as strong as concrete. You will never have issues with the material cracking unless you’ve got a significant substrate issue. Driveways still look beautiful after 13 years.
