Nearly 4,000 children attended Allen ISD's Community Education Summer Camps this year. Thanks for your support and thanks to all of our Allen ISD teachers who created and taught camps.

The Foundation for Allen Schools Board of Directors presented a "check" in the amount of $227,738 to the AISD Board of Trustees this evening. The check represents funds raised came from sponsorships, fundraising activities and the 2017 Eagle Run proceeds. They were used primarily for AISD classroom grants and student scholarships.

Allen High School senior Nicholas Ehlers won FFA state recognition for his Star Chapter supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program at the recent state convention held in Corpus Christi. Eight other FFA students also received their Lone Star Degree, the highest state degree, from the organization. They are: Briston Garner, Kaitlyn Martin, Chelsea Dahlgren, Koby Lindsey, Elizabeth Sawyers, Savanna Walker, Morgan Koiner and Morgan Applewhite. Those receiving the Lone Star Degree must have been an active FFA member for at least two years, completed at least four semesters of agricultural science at or above the ninth-grade level, maintained a SAE program, invested significant time and money in their SAE, demonstrated leadership skills and proved a commitment to the FFA through involvement at the chapter level and above. Congratulations all!

AHS senior Dorothy Cobb finishes 2nd and 4th in the world archery championships target and 3D contests. We are proud of you Dorothy!

Congratulations to AHS senior Dorothy Cobb - she finished second in the world in target archery and fourth in 3D archery at the NASP World Championships in Orlando this weekend. She scored a 294 out of a possible 300 competing against 467 other archers. She was also ranked 4th overall out of 1,653 competitors.
