North Guilford Nursery School Inc

The mission of the school is to provide quality educational programs to children ages 3 through 5 who live in the greater Guilford area.

The North Guilford Nursery School provides a nurturing environment that is friendly and secure, in which the young child can develop and strengthen their individual personalities. Our curriculum is designed to enhance their physical, cognitive, social and emotional development, and promote independent self-help skills.

The school offers a variety of learning experiences to engage the children in exploring the world around them, to introduce concepts, pre-writing and pre-math skills, and an opportunity to foster their socialization through play with their peers. Children will be involved in a library and music program, active and quiet play, exploration and discovery, individual and small group activities, dramatic play, experiences that promote self-reliance, both child-initiated and teacher-initiated experiences, and varied choice of materials, toys, and equipment. Our goal is to provide every child with a positive school experience.

The school is a non-sectarian preschool program. The programs and practices reflect many recommendations and policies of The National Association for the Education of Young Children as well as the CT Departments of Public Health and Education.
