WE MUST KNOW WHO THE MURDERER IS! “The shooting death of Rumain Brisbon by Phoenix police has sparked outrage in our community! The slaying of this unarmed black man and the unjust profiling that proceeded it are abominable offenses! The only thing worse is the impact of his tragic death on his family and little girls.” Rev. Jarrett Maupin PROTEST for #RumainBrisbon and other victims of Police Killings Tomorrow at 5PM-UNTIL! We will MARCH from the ELKS LODGE located at 1007 S 7th Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85007 to the PHOENIX POLICE DEPT! THE POLICE HAS REFUSED TO GIVE UP NAME OF OFFICER...WE WANT HIS NAME! RALLY 5PM-7PM MARCH 7PM UNTIL We join thousands of people across the nation raising their voices, taking to the streets, rallying and demanding justice for the lives of the Black men, women and children killed every 28 hours by police. Rumain Brisbon, father of four and resident of Phoenix, AZ was killed by an unnamed Phoenix Police Officer on Tuesday December 2, 2014. Police statements and mainstream media outlets allege that Mr. Brisbon was a drug dealer and threatened the officer, causing the officer to use deadly force. However, witnesses, family and friends present a different story. Rumain was not a drug dealer. In fact, he was just in front of his home while approached by the police officer. Sources say, Rumain was shot in front of his young children. The white police officer mistook a pill bottle for a gun. The police ambush started because of a phone call put in by a unnamed resident. The caller told police Rumain looked suspicious. However, Rumain was dropping off food for his little girls. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday October 5th, 2013 Ready to enjoy some Phoenix Weather? Concerns about the quality of our air, water, and food bring us together. The eco-balance of our planet and being self sustainable as a species to ensure our existence in freedom. Setting differences aside, sharing food and conversation with each other. Listening to the views and life experiences of the community around. ****WHAT YOU BRING WILL BE. ♥ Please bring your picnic with you if possible. **** If you were going to go picnic by yourself or with friendlies what would you bring? Bring that. **** This is leaderless. You are your own leader. The community picnics started May 4th 2013 as a way for people to connect with activist friendlies in the area. For it to become a time and space where as many different groups as possible are congregating at once. Hearing from each-others community. Groups are encouraged to set up their events during the same time and space. This allows other people from other groups to find out what you are doing as well. Making the community smaller. The picnics have gone incredibly well. It’s nice to see people and touch base. Engaging in conversation about what's going on in our city, in our nation, and around our globe. Ideas being shared and discussed. Thank you to everyone who has come out and enriched it!!! *This is an open invite to anyone who wants to be involved and meet other people in the community. *This is an open invite to any activist group who wants to come and share information. ____________________________________________________ Dear Members, Supporters, and Partners: On Saturday, August 17, 2013 we will gather at 9AM at the Steele Indian School Memorial Plaza in Phoenix, Arizona, to stand together against the recent attack on voter rights, against Stand Your Ground and racial profiling, and to continue to raise awareness on unemployment, poverty, gun violence, immigration, gay rights and other critical issues affecting our nation. 50 years ago when we rallied on Washington, it was an historic event that lead to the passage of the very civil rights legislation that ended Jim Crow and began the modern era of civil rights. It brought us our dignity, our humanity and realization of the dream that so many had given their lives for. Two weeks ago Phoenix took part in a series of vigils held in 100 cities across the nation for Trayvon Martin. These vigils were a huge success because of all of US! Now, it is critical that we harness this heightened awareness of our collective strength to sustain the movement. Your support at this rally will ensure that our voices are heard as we continue to realize the dream of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. ____________________________________________________ This event page serves the purpose of the sharing of information and press releases, regarding Trayvon Martin Inspired Projects in the Phoenix area. CONDITION YOURSELF FOR "FINISHING STRONG" 1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. Condition yourself today to receive the prize of Finishing Strong. Do not begin your day with uncertainly (without definite aim), like one beating the air and striking without an adversary. Run hard for the finish line. Give it everything You've got. Stay alert and in top condition. Don't get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out yourself. Run to win! Run with purpose in every step. Select a specific goal that is well beyond your bare necessities, that you are absolutely committed to. Design that number, then get yourself to make it important enough that you will make this happen no matter what. Have a effective strategy to absolutely achieve your goals and surpass them. Handle problems in advance, before they come up. Overcome every negative belief that is keeping you from Finishing Strong. Make Finishing Strong a must, not just surviving. Commit to do something today! Write, call, or talk to somebody to find out what are some initial steps you can take to master Finishing Strong. Get yourself to follow through consistently. Take it a day at a time. Each day builds on the day before. Make a list of things you don't understand. Learn what you need to so you can make the financial decisions in your life with good input about taxes, business, churches, etc. Go find someone who can give you those answers Handle your money effectively. Pay attention to your finances consistently. Don't get comfortable and allow things to dwindle. Don't give up the power to someone else. Write down how you are going to follow thru. Develop a belief within yourself that no matter what happens financially, that you are personally, much bigger than anything that could ever happen to you financially. You are bigger than anything that could happen to our economy. Focus on having more than enough Teach your brain that there is more than enough. Take action, today is a new day! Become a role model for people around you of what "Finishing Strong" is, Spiritual, Mental, Physical, Social, and Financial. Eliminate the wounds of the past and move Forward. This is your day,... "Finish Strong" Apostle Dr. Alfred Craig
