The Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council was founded in 1967 and is the first incorporated Arts Council in the state of Maryland. We are the not-for-profit organization that coordinates, promotes, and sustains the activities of other not-for-profit art entities in Wicomico County.
We are committed to expanding arts in the region by increasing awareness of existing organizations and artists by presenting art forms not readily available to the region.
We are dedicated to preserving the accessibility of the arts for all residents. Particular attention is given to our local youth and the integration of the arts into their education.
Goals:
to enhance our quality of life to advocate for the arts to provide positive activities for our youth to support local arts organizations to preserve our heritage to introduce new art forms to the public to creatively assist at-risk populations to entertain and inspire to bring the Arts to marginalized people to support economic development through the arts.
