The Yalobusha County Sheriff Department is headed by Sheriff Lance Humphreys and Chief Deputy Jerry Ferguson. Other Deputies include Asst. Chief Deputy David Wallis, Captain J. Gooch, Sgt. Deputy Jim Bailey, Deputy Jason Irby, Deputy Thomas West and Deputy Steven Story as full time deputies. Part time deputies play a great role in our day to day operation. Part time deputies include Chris Pullen, Deputy Stu Holiday, Deputy Larry Tritt, Deputy Charles Davis, Deputy Billy Flippin, Deputy Jimmy Cofer,Deputy Jason Mangrum, Deputy Eddie Foster, Deputy Edward Moore and others on the reserve roster. The Yalobusha County Sheriff currently has one deputy assigned to the Water Valley School District as a School Resource Officer. Deputy Steve Story is assigned as the SRO.
Sheriff Lance Humphreys has been in office for seven years and has accomplished many of the task he has set for the department and the county.
