Many of the children at Chaddock represent some of our nation’s most extreme cases of abuse and neglect. Perhaps you’ve heard their stories reported on the evening news. We’ve cared for children who were kept in cages, starved, and exploited. As babies, some were rescued from trash dumpsters while others were left for days with just enough sustenance to keep them alive.
We work with children who were so devalued in their early life that many believe they are unlovable and not worthy of living. But these kids are awe-inspiring, talented and have so much good to offer the world; as long as someone is willing to give them a chance.
Chaddock was founded as a ministry of the United Methodist Church in 1853 and has a legacy of more than 150 years of serving children. Today, the Chaddock team includes in excess of 250 highly trained employees who serve thousands of children and families every year through community, educational and residential services.
Children have been placed in Chaddock's residential treatment facility from 33 different states and one tribal nation, as far away as California, Florida, Texas, and Alaska.
Licensed, accredited and nationally respected, Chaddock is on the cutting edge of trauma-focused residential treatment demonstrating excellent results for children who have experienced severe abuse, neglect or other trauma in their early years of development. Many of the children in this program are adopted by loving families, but the unresolved issues from their early childhood prevent them from forming loving, nurturing relationships.
