Spray Urethane Foam Roofing
Spray Urethane Foam Roofing of Southern California is a professional roofing company owned and operated by Peter Froetschel for over 18 years. Pete has over 28 years experience installing sprayfoam roofing systems, and has worked from Aspen, Colorado to Northern California, working on projects ranging from school buildings to wine tanks.

"There is no job more important to Spray Urethane Foam Roofing than putting on a roof that will never fail." Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, CA, Peter Froetschel has seen a lot of growth and wonderful architecture. Sprayfoam roofing helps to preserve the rustic look in older mid-century homes designed by architects such as Albert Frey, William Cody, Donald Wexler, Palmer & Krisel and the Alexander tracts of over 5000 homes in the desert. Spray Urethane Foam Roofing can also add a new look and energy savings to new and older homes. Wherever you live, you should put the right roof on your house the first time and not let it take away from the beauty of the home."

Benefits of Spray Urethane Foam Roofing Systems

Sprayfoam roofing systems provide many benefits to building owners. The two most prominent benefits are waterproofing/leak protection and insulation value. Many additional benefits also exist such as superior compressive strength, lightweight, self-flashing, durable and long lasting.

  • Leak Free Monolithic Seal Over Your Entire Roof Deck
  • Self Flashing
  • High Insulation Value/Rapid Payback With Energy Savings
  • Strong Adhesion & Wind Uplift Resistance
  • Weather Resistant
  • Lightweight & High Strength
  • UL & FM Approved Systems

Sprayed Polyurethane Foam is applied as a liquid using plural-component spray equipment to fill cracks and crevices. It then expands approximately 30 times its original liquid volume to form a hard, closed cell monolithic roof surface. The Polyurethane Foam dries within seconds after application to the roof surface. Its expansion results in a weather-tight roofing membrane that is fully adhered to the substrate. Because of polyurethane's light weight, it adds little additional weight to the structure and is often used in remedial applications. Polyurethane Foam has a history of more than 40 years as a maintainable roofing medium. Polyurethane Foam adds excellent insulation value to the structure and utility bills can reflect the difference.

Lightweight

The weight of polyurethane foam is between 2-3 pounds per cubic foot. One inch of polyurethane foam insulation plus 30 mils of an elastomeric coating weight approximately 60 ponds per 100 square feet, as compared to approximately 600 pounds per 100 square feet for a typical conventional four-ply built-up roofing system. This makes a sprayed polyurethane foam system ideal for reroofing as it is often possible to apply over an existing roof without removing it. Sprayed polyurethane foam has an R-value of 6.85 per 1 inch thickness, enabling it to provide more thermal resistance with less material than any other insulation.

Once the sprayfoam has been applied to the proper thickness and finish specifications, a protective layer of elastomeric coating, or gravel is applied. This protective layer produces a durable weather resistant surface and that can be walked on for normal maintenance.

Protective Coatings For Sprayfoam Roofs

Once the SPF has been applied to the proper thickness and finish specifications, a protective layer of elastomeric coating, or gravel is applied. This protective layer produces a durable weather resistant surface and that can be walked on for normal maintenance.

Energy Star - Cool Roofs Program & Benefits

Energy Star qualified roof coating products reduce the amount of air conditioning needed in buildings and can reduce energy bills by up to 50%. The Coll Roof Program defines certain standards for reflectivity, and maintenance of reflectivity, in roof coating systems. These light colored roof coatings reflect the sun's heat and UV rays and often lower the temperature of the roof by up to 100 degrees.

Sprayfoam Roofing Installation

Installation of sprayfoam involves different procedures based on the existing roof structure. It is important to be familiar with all state and local building codes to assure the appropriate materials and procedures meet the necessary requirements in your area.

Elimination Of Ponding Water

In reroofing applications, ponding of water may be eliminated by adding an increased thickness of polyurethane foam in low areas. Building up the low areas and sloping the roof so that it drains properly will eliminate ponding water and the additional load factor that is caused by water accumulation.
