Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) is one of 30 Community Action Partnership (CAP) agencies in the state of Washington, as well as a United Way Agency. BMAC provides a spectrum of services to the underserved populations of Walla Walla, Columbia, and Garfield counties, including: ~Financial Education (through Asset Building Coalition) ~Neighborhood Revitalization (through Commitment to Community) ~Energy Assistance & Utility Discounts (through LiHeap) ~Energy Education (in the public schools) ~Food Distribution Center (supplying to the food pantries and hosting food giveaways) ~Legal Assistance (matching civil cases with pro-bono attorneys) ~Affordable Housing Rental (for specific underserved populations) ~Housing the Homeless (through Transitional Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing programs) ~Home Repairs (Weatherization, Lead Based Paint Removal) ~Job Training for Adults and Youth (through Community Jobs, WorkSource, On-the-Job Training, and BMAC Employability Training Center) ~Adult Literacy Program (literacy and ESL tutoring) ~AmeriCorps (providing volunteers to local classrooms and non-profits)
