Camp Mataponi was founded in 1910 as a traditional girls' camp. We have a total of 330 girls, each group having about 50 campers. The Juniors, our youngest group are girls between the ages of 7 and 9, first through third grade. The Middies, 10 and 11, fourth and fifth grade. Inters are 12 and 13, sixth and seventh grade. The living facilities are right on campus with enclosed showers, toilets, and sinks right in the cabins. The entire camp participates together in certain activities such as campfires, weekly barbecues, special events, dramatic presentations, and others.
The camp season is seven weeks long, beginning near the end of June. The Camp Mataponi family is made up of campers and staff from all over the United States, and some from different parts of the world!
