Originally from St Jean Cap Ferat in Southern France, Alain Tomatis came to the United States in 1970 where he worked as a freelance photographer in the Los Angeles area. The University of Vaugirard in Paris is where he began his first photographic studies in 1968. From there he went to work in Nice France as a Freelance Photographer doing race car sports photography for Formula One. Then a magazine sent him to Los Angeles to continue working for them. This led to work freelancing for record labels like Polydor and Paramount photographing musicians like Leon Russell, Billy Joel, The Beach Boys, Alice Cooper, and many others of that era. In 1976, Alain moved to Paradise California and opened his own studio on the Skyway. The Studio has been doing a fantastic business for 30 years. His studio, now completely digital for the last five years does most everything in house including the printing.
