Midwest Construction was started in August 1981 by Mark and Glennis Zarecky and incorporated in1985. Midwest Construction has grown to a leader in constructing quality buildings in the Pierre area. As a general construction firm we are involved in a variety of projects to include light industrial, commercial, multi-family, and custom homes. Employing concrete, framing and finish carpentry crews and a full office staff, Midwest strives to meet the demand of today's construction clients. For design needs we can assist with schematic and detail drawings, and if your project requires architectural and engineering services we have teamed with those professionals to provide the complete design package.

We have been certified building erector of pre-engineered steel buildings since 1991. Using the the American Building Company and Butler Manufacturing systems, we have built many commercial steel buildings in the Pierre area to include cold storage, shops, office buildings and mini-storage units.

In 1998 Mark and Glennis began to pursue development of land in Northeast Pierre and broke ground in Highlands Ridge Development in fall of 2000. Since then Highlands Ridge has grown to approximately 115 homes and townhomes and is a place where "people want to live". It's a vibrant community with both retirement age folks and young families enjoying the wide open space feel of the area. We look forward to continuing to expand Highlands Ridge to include single family homes and townhome projects to serve the retirement and professional community in Pierre.
Another future project in the planning process is the Riverwalk Landing Development situated in Teton Island in Ft. Pierre, along the Missouri River just south of the bridges connecting Pierre and Ft. Pierre. The planned development will include a future restaurant, and other commercial space for retail and professional use as well as a Marina. Concrete Boat Docks will offer a stable, comfortable boat slip for individual lease as well as to access the businesses surrounding the marina. This will be a great destination to work and play!
