Hearing Professionals opened its first office in 1995 in Laurel, Maryland. The founder, Dr. Lisa Nelson, started Hearing Professionals based on the fundamental belief that providing personalized care should be the ultimate goal of an audiology practice and using the most technologically advanced equipment should be considered standard practice.
Hearing Professionals expanded its service area in 1999 by acquiring Waldorf Hearing Aid Center and in 2001 began providing services in Bowie, Solomons and Leonardtown by establishing part-time satellite offices. The service area now encompasses Maryland’s southern counties west of the Chesapeake Bay with offices located in Bowie, California, Laurel and Waldorf.
August of 2015 was a time for change as Dr. Lisa Nelson announced her retirement and the sale of Hearing Professionals to Audiology Management Group in Miami, Florida. The company that started from one’s vision of offering personalized hearing healthcare, is now a local team of 14 employees dedicated to fulfilling the personalized mission and sustaining the positive reputation of the practice drawing patients from more than 7 counties in Maryland, Washington , Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
