Life Options Vocational and Resource Center, or LOVARC, is a private, not for profit organization (501(c)(3)) formed and incorporated in 1964 by a concerned group of parents. LOVARC's initial program was a pre-school for developmentally disabled children and continued through 1978 when the Public Schools were mandated to provide this service. In 1982 LOVARC opened our Group Home "La Paloma" which is home to 6 adults with developmental disabilities. Our biggest endeavor began in 1996 when LOVARC, in collaboration with Ability One, was awarded a food services contract at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Our most recent contracts for 2010 are with the California Army National Guard running the dining facilities at Camp San Luis Obispo and the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base.
