The Capital Lighting Story Capital Lighting began with a partnership between Larry King and Dave Winks, each lighting industry veterans with 15 years of experience. Since that day, Capital Lighting has been driven by the idea of partnerships. Their first employee - Jeff Santille - is still proud to work at Capital Lighting, and their first customer partnership with MI Homes is going strong after 25 years of building together. That customer-centric and partner-centric approach has paid off.
After the first few years, they’d partnered with 80% of Columbus builders, a market share that’s still held today. Soon they were able to start work on a custom facility, and the 32,000 square foot building (complete with a 7,500 square foot showroom) opened its doors on Polaris Parkway in 1999 — less than ten years after King and Winks started the company.
After two and a half decades, Capital Lighting still lives and breathes the same dedication to customers and vendor partners. Our showroom has allowed us to become a leader in both the builder and retail markets. You will find our lights illuminating homes, restaurants, offices, health care facilities, and everything in between.
