Get a paid local 2017 summer science / health research internship in your hometown!! This community based and culturally responsive scientific opportunity is open to Indigenous secondary students (grades 11-12) and students of color, low SES, disability, and 1st generation college students. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS FEB 15, 2017.
Through a generous National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant to UNLV this 8—10 weeks’ research experience includes a 2017 summer stipend, work with experienced science mentors in your home town and region, and includes an all-expense paid trip to #NIH in the Washington DC area to present your research project in early August 2017.
Eligibility Requirements: Must be a US citizen, must be 16 years of age or older, must be in 11th or 12th grade at time of application, must have minimum overall GPA of 2.75, must have personal medical/health insurance, must come from a disadvantaged background (Native American/Alaska Native, Hispanic/Latino, African American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, disability, low socioeconomic background, first generation). Make sure to check the AI/AN category if appropriate.
