ASCENSION DAILY PRAYER – BELOVED 9/23 “He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1: 13-14 According to bible scholars, few words better illustrate God’s power and majesty better than “BELOVED.” It is used to describe the spiritual, Divine love that God has for His children. God, who loved us so much that He came to us, as one of us. He loved us so much that He died for us, for our salvation. He loves us so much that He continues to constantly forgive us when we come to Him in reconciliation. We are His beloved. Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. Amen.

ASCENSION DAILY PRAYER – BELOVED 9/22 “And a voice came from the heavens, saying, “This is my beloved Son,” with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3: 17 The three synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, all repeat this scripture; that God proclaimed Jesus as His beloved Son. This took place at the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. We are baptized into the Church, into the Body of Christ, as children of God. God entrusts his children to grow and learn in the faith; then, to fulfill the responsibilities of our baptism by serving Him and bringing others to Him. Love God, Love Others, Make Disciples Father God, just as Jesus is Your beloved Son, I am blessed to be Your beloved child and pray to live the promises of my baptism.

ASCENSION DAILY PRAYER – BELOVED 9/21 “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another…” Colossians 3: 12-13a Chosen and beloved. How could we be more honored by God? He has chosen us as His own and loves us with an unconditional love. This is what He asks of us – to be kind, compassionate and forgiving. Do we strive to honor His request? Do we live the great commandment “To love God with all our heart, mind and soul and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves?” Our mission statement, LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS, MAKE DISCIPLES, is a simple rewording of what God has asked of us. That if we live in love, others will want the faith that we have, to live as they see us living. Loving God, give me the heart and mind to live as Your chosen and beloved child, that I might inspire others to know Your love.

ASCENSION DAILY PRAYER – BELOVED 9/20 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” John 3: 17 These words are as powerful as the previous verse, John 3:16, proving God’s unconditional love for His people. God could have been a punishing Father, using His power to make us comply with fear. Instead He came to us as a man, to teach us about the power of love and forgiveness. He showed us an amazing, unconditional love that we did not have to earn. As beloved children of God, what can we do to honor Him and server Him? Loving God, You share Your love for me through Your Son. Help me serve You and honor You by being the hands and feet of Jesus.
