EDIT: AS of Manatee has picked up the dog. We have the case number and animal ID if anyone needs it if they think it's their dog. Dog is at the ER, will be picked up by animal services for manatee in the morning. Brought into Animal ER of University Park for microchip scan. No chip and no collar/tags. Young male, not neutered. Pit bull. Red with white chest and white on paws. Very friendly. Finders are contacting animal control of Sarasota and manatee as they cannot take the pet home. If this is your dog, please call animal services. Edit: after telling them we can't keep the dog and the "gentleman" stated he was going to release the dog back in the road, before he and his girlfriend both proceeded to tie the dog outside of the front of the ER and then call later to "let us know" there was a dog at the front of the door. They were either on drugs or under the influence of alcohol. The guy was mean to the dog and trying to "make it obey" by pinching its ear. Very sweet dog, terrible people.
