Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM), formerly Rape Crisis Network, is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3), United Way member agency, established in 1983. We serve Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Clarendon, and Sumter counties. Our services are confidential and available at no cost to survivors and their loved ones.
Our 24-hour crisis response services include hospital accompaniment and the crisis hotline. We average more than one hospital call per day, responding to the hospitals in Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Clarendon, and Sumter counties. STSM staff members and trained volunteers answer the hospital and hotline calls. We provide support, advocacy, and information follow-up services, including counseling by licensed professionals.
