1938 - First cooperative meeting held at the Farm Bureau office building in Anna
1939 - REA approved an initial loan of $200,000 to SIEC; Villa Ridge farmer George W. Endicott was hired as the SIEC project superintendent; Board of directors approved a motion transferring the SIEC headquarters from Mounds to Dongola;
1940 - First section of line energized
1954 - R. T. Reeves became SIEC's second General Manager.
1961 - SIEC, EECA & SEIEC break ground for Southern IL Power Co-op
1963 - Power began flowing from SIPC
1981 - Tim Reeves (Tom's son) became SIEC third GM
1990 - Larry Lovell became SIEC's fourth GM
1998 - SouthWater, Inc. became operational
2008 - Installed Automated Meter Reading (AMR)
2009 - Built a new office in Massac County and a new substation in Coben
2012 - Received safety achievement status through RESAP (national accomplishment)
2013 - Chris Bennett became SIEC's fifth GM
