The House of Representatives is expected to introduce a bill to cut Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act on... fb.me/1F23qTKzY

The House of Representatives is expected to introduce a bill to cut Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act on February 27 and to begin committee work immediately. Congress will be on its Presidents' Day recess next week. Let's make this time count and get active on behalf of New Yorkers with developmental disabilities who depend upon Medicaid funding to keep them living in our communities and to ensure their health and well-being. Please take a moment of your time to contact: Charles Schumer 100 S Clinton St, Syracuse, NY 13202 Phone: (315) 423-5471 www.schumer.senate.gov/contact/email-chuck Kirsten Gilibrand James M. Hanley Federal Building, 100 S Clinton St # 1470, Syracuse, NY 13261 Phone: (315) 448-0470 www.gillibrand.senate.gov/contact And, say: The Affordable Care Act (ACA) provides health care and many important protections, including for people with disabilities and their families. Please vote against any plan to “repeal,” “repair” or “replace” the ACA that does not maintain or improve coverage and protections. OR Medicaid is a vital source of health care and related services for many people with disabilities. I've heard about proposals in Congress to cut Medicaid, including to block grant or cap the program. Any cuts to Medicaid would be devastating for [people like me/my family/people in our state or District]. Please prevent cuts to Medicaid. Thank you!

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED! Congress has already begun the process of repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and it now is on the fast track to include drastic cuts to the Medicaid programs as part of the replacement plan. The result would be two major blows to individuals with disabilities. Please take a minute to place a call to your senators and representatives today. Every call matters. Don’t let them take away health care and services for millions of people and replace it with a plan that cuts Medicaid. What to Say: I am a person with Intellectual/Developmental Disability OR I am a family member of someone with Intellectual/Developmental Disability OR I am a professional in the disability field. Do NOT repeal the Affordable Care Act without a replacement that maintains or improves coverage and protections. Do NOT allow restructuring and cuts to Medicaid to be part of an Affordable Care Act replacement. The Affordable Care Act and Medicaid helps me/my family member to have health care and community based services. Thank you!
