A local, family-owned business, the Materne family wanted to fill an urban mobility lifestyle void in Greater New Orleans and opened Vespa New Orleans in its original Bayou St John location in 2002. By 2004, they needed a larger, more visible location and broke ground at 901 Julia Street in April 2005. Scheduled completion was for October 2005, but Hurricane Katrina delayed the opening. Not even Katrina could keep the Maternes from building New Orleans into one of the largest Vespa markets in the country. By February 2006, Vespa New Orleans reopened in their new downtown location and soon thereafter added Triumph and Ducati to the motorcycle brand mix, leading TTRNO to position itself as an industry leader. TTRNO was awarded BMW Motorcycles of New Orleans in fall 2017 – the first in market and only BMW motorcycle dealership from Baton Rouge, La. to Pensacola, Fla. TTRNO, the lone full-service motorcycle dealership in Orleans Parish, is the only Vespa dealership in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi; the only Triumph dealership in Louisiana; and the only Ducati dealership in Louisiana and Mississippi. TTRNO is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am – 6pm and Saturdays from 10am – 5pm.
